A few of my favourite pics

At the end of every single year I always write a new year goals and achievements post, and every single year without fail, 'improve my photography' is on it.

With blogging being such a big part of my life, I suppose it's only natural for me to want to improve my photos and their quality but I have to be honest, for a few years now I don't think I've really progressed much. Okay I have come on leaps and bounds from my dull, blurry, using hair grips as background props photos, but they still aren't where I want them to be. Photo's are one of my favourite things though, you only have to take a look at my scrapbook to see this and one thing I will definitely be doing this year to improve the overall quality of the picture memories I can look back on, is investing in a new camera like this Mirrorless 12-60mm Lens Camera.

Although I don't think they're too shabby, all of my pictures are shot on my IPhone 6s and for a phone it takes great pictures, but there's just something a little bit more professional feeling about shooting with an actual camera. But anyway, looking through old pictures gives me such joy, that I wanted to share 5 of my favourite ones and talk about why I love them.

Small disclaimer though, I'm aware that from these choices I may look incredibly self centred as they feature no other people. This is just because I don't feel comfortable showing pictures of people that don't even know about my blog, on my blog. Capiche?
This first one is one of my favourites purely because I think it's one of the best photos I've ever taken. It was taken over Barcelona beach when I went there on holiday last October and is probably my favourite photo from the whole trip, and we took a LOT! The sunset was really pretty and the palm trees looked really cool and it even managed to capture a couple of people roller skating by on the promenade.
This is another Barcelona pic, sorry not sorry, but I had to include it for a few reasons. For one, I really like the edgy grunge vibes it gives off, this was taken in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona next to a random door of graffiti we found. Another reason is that it's not often I see a picture of myself that I actually like, but this one I was really happy with. And thirdly, I was well proud of myself for wearing something so out of my comfort zone! I am not a trousers kinda gal, so to be wearing these paper bag ones and actually liking them, is another reason why this picture falls in to my top 5.
Thirdly, and the final holiday picture, is this one. My brother actually took this one of me (so props to him) standing on our balcony in Menorca one evening back in 2016. He managed to catch me mid way through doing something with my hand which gave it the candid vibe I didn't even know I was going for. I also really like the way the suns reflecting off my hair and the picture brings back lots of good memories.
Next up is actually a blogging photo of a flat lay I took last year. It was the first one of it's kind that I'd ever really taken and I remember being really proud of it and wanting to show it to people. It definitely inspired me to up my blogging photography game at the time and when I come across it now in my camera roll it always makes me happy.
Finally to finish we have this one. Me and my friend were walking through our town centre one afternoon back in 2016 when who other did we see than Mr Martin Lewis the money man himself! He was filming something for his show and so of course I couldn't miss the opportunity of a photo with him, even if it was from a million miles away... But, if you zoom in very closely, you can in fact see the money man sat down in the background, so that classes as a picture together right?

So those are just a small snippet of some of my favourite photos and I hope that as the year goes on I take many more so I have lots of memories to look back on!
