Lush cupcake fresh face mask review

I'm pretty sure that most of you reading this will agree with me when I say facemasks are a godsend! There's nothing like having a good pamper session and detoxifying your skin with one of the many incredible products we have available for us.

I have tried manyyy different face masks ranging from the cheap ones you find in Primark and Poundworld to some higher end more expensive ones (although I must admit, I haven't tried too many of these as I prefer to find affordable products that work for my skin). On countless occasions I've used masks that haven't really done anything for my skin, I take it off and my face looks and feels exactly as it did before. The way I know if I've found a good facemask is by when I take it off, whether my skin looks visibly brighter.

A fairly recent addition to my mask collection and something I was really excited to try out was the Cupcake fresh facemask from Lush. Lush do a range of facemasks that are designed to be kept in the fridge to keep them as fresh as possible before use and this is one of them. The mask comes in a little 75g black pot which doesn't sound or look particularly big, but you actually get a good mount of product in there and this pot did me at least 6 applications.

The mask is designed to be 'chocolate heaven for oily and teenage skin' and 'helps absorb excess oil and calm breakouts'. Now I don't actually have oily skin, more like combination, but this mask still works a treat for me and I use it particularly to target my really bad breakouts as I noticed after just one use of this that they looked visibly better. Also don't be put off by the teenage skin target, I wouldn't say I have that hormonal teenage skin anymore but this works amazingly well for me still. It leaves my skin look visibly brighter after every use which is like I said, what I look for in a mask, and helps calm down by breakouts

Like the name suggests, the mask is a brown colour and smells like chocolatey goodness when you're spreading it on your face. The fact you use it straight from the fridge too means it has an amazing cooling effect when you apply it which is super refreshing and not something you normally get from a facemask.

Priced at £7.50 the Lush fresh face masks are a big hit with me, especially Cupcake and are now something I cannot live without in my skincare routine. It's also included in the black pot offer which Lush do that means if you return 5 empty pots just like the one this comes in, you get a free fresh face mask, which of course is really handy if your a big fan of one and keep re purchasing it, because you can get your fifth free! I think that'll be happening with me very soon!

So if you're in the market for a new face mask then I'd highly recommend you go and try this one as it really does work wonders! Just don't forget about it in the fridge and never use it!!
