Freedom makeup eye foils

It's no secret that I'm a sucker for a good eyeshadow or two. Especially a shimmery one because although matte shades are perfect for the crease, there isn't a day that goes by where I haven't got a shimmery shade on my lid somewhere.

So when I was placing an order on Superdrug the other day I tweeted asking if there was anything anybody thought I should pick up and was recommended the Freedom makeup eye foils palettes. The palettes were £5 each and come with five eyeshadows making that just £1 per shadow and the pans are designed to be put in one of the empty magnetic Freedom palettes.

I decided to get three of the palettes because I literally couldn't decided between them, they all looked so beautiful! I chose the palettes Burnt, Metallics 1, and Metallics 2 and I also potted them in to my empty Z palette as they're already made to be magnetic and I didn't have the empty palette from Freedom.
The palettes come with a mixture of matte and shimmer shades and I ended up with more shimmery ones which wasn't a problem for me because we all know I do love a shimmer shadow! The palette's I got also mostly consisted of warm shades with lots of golds which are what I tend to wear more anyway. However I did still end up with a nice range of colours.

The pigmentation of these eyeshadows is insane especially for drugstore products, and the name eyeshadow foils is definitely accurate for the shimmer shades as they come off so vibrant and bright. Even the matte shades lived up to the expectation of a much higher end brand though and they were the same colour as in the pan and blended out like a dream. I've been using the matte orangey shades in my crease and they blend out just as well as my forever favourite makeup geek shadow Frappe and have even replaced it in my current makeup routine!

The above shadows are swatches are from the palette Burnt and the shades from left to right are Sweet Life, Bad Behaviour, Intervention, Goal Digger and Burnt Bridges. This palette has three matte shades and two shimmers, and is any warm eyeshadow loves dream! I mean just look at those oranges!?

The above shades and swatches are from the palette Metallics 1 and the shades from left to right are Under Your Spell, Fool Around, Inhibition, In My Zone and Dead End. This palette consists of just shimmer shades which as you can see, are all super pigmented with just the lightest shade Under Your Spell being not quite as bright as the rest of them.

The final shades and swatches are from the palette Metallics 2 and the shades from left to right are Reinvented, Fake Friends, Pace Yourself, Friend Zone and Momentous. This is another palette of just shimmer shades (hooray) and this one has a few more purple shades than the other two and is veering towards the more cool tones palettes.

So as you can see, all the eyeshadows are not only super pigmented but have really cool names as well, Goal Digger being my personal favourite. Providing you use a good primer I find these to last all day on my eyelids and like I said before, they blend like a dream.

At £1 an eyeshadow, these are hands down the best value shadows I've ever found and you can be sure that I'll be picking up the other palettes too. I want to fill an entire Z palette with these! I also love that they come already made magnetic, meaning you don't have to spend more money on attaching magnets to the bottom so they'll stick in a palette.

All in all I'd 100% recommend these and if you haven't already tried them then seriously get down to Superdrug and get your hands on some!!
