What is in my (realistic) travel makeup bag

As you may have read from my last post, I am currently on holiday in Menorca, hence the few travel related posts I've got going on at the moment. So since it's holiday season I thought I'd share with you what I've packed in to my travel makeup bag for my time away in the sun.

So you might be wondering why I've called this my 'realistic' travel makeup bag, that's because I know you're supposed to take less makeup with you on holiday, but if I'm being truthful, I always end up taking loads so I thought I might as well show you what's really in my makeup bag, rather than a toned down version which isn't even realistic!

Starting on my base I'm taking the Max factor facefinity primer because it's amazing for keeping my makeup on all day and doesn't feel siliconey either which I hate. Then for foundation I'm taking the Urban Deacy all nighter foundation in two shades, 2.0 and 3.0 as my heavy coverage option, and then the Bourjois healthy mix serum foundation in 52 Vanilla as my lighter coverage option which I also did a post about here. For concealer I'm bringing my trusty Maybelline anti eye eraser and L.A. girl pro conceal for my dark circles and blemishes and then my Rimmel match perfection concealer for priming my eyes as I find it does a great job at making my eyeshadow last longer.

For my face products I've next got the Barry M chisel cheeks contour kit which I use to contour and set my eye primer with the translucent shade, and I'm also bringing the Makeup Revolution sculpt and contour kit as another contour option. To bronze and blush up my face I've chose two products by Soap and Glory, the solar powder bronzer and love at first blush which I pretty much live by. Finally for highlight because we obviously can't forget that, I've got theBalm mary lou-manizer which is my favourite product for a natural glow.

Eye's next and I've got a variety of products here because lets be honest, who can just choose one eyeshadow palette!? I've got my mini z palette filled with my daily used Makeup Geek shadows, Frappe, Bitten, Prom night and Homecoming, then I've also got a shadow from Colourpop in the shade Come and get it and one from Freedom in shimmer 03. For palette's I've then managed to keep it to two with the Makeup Revolution #revaholiceyes and Flawless palettes. One other random eyeshadow I'm bringing with me is a Colourpop super shock shadow in Prickly pear because this is my favourite quick makeup eyeshadow. For mascara I've got the L'oreal miss baby doll and Maxfactor false lash effect for my waterproof alternative.
Eyebrows and lips next and I've got the Freedom brow pomade (great dupe for the abh one) and Maybelline brow drama to set them in place. For lips I've got five options, Mac velvet teddy which to be honest is what I'll probably end up wearing every day, Mac modesty, Mac whirl (good for an evening if I'm feeling slightly more daring), Soap and Glory sexy mother pucker lipstick in cinnamon beige and to finish my Models Own lipstick in 12 Mauve.

However all this makeup would be pretty pointless if I didn't have something to set it and keep it in place all day, hence why the last thing I've got in my travel makeup is my Barry M matte finish mist and fix makeup setting spray. Works and dream and I couldn't live without it!

So there you have it, my rather excessive, but truthful, travel makeup bag! Personally though I like having makeup options when I'm away because although I don't usually wear much during the day, it's nice to dress up a bit in the evenings. I'd love to know how much makeup you pack when you're going away!

  1. I love how minimal you've been with your makeup choices, but yet you still have so much choice! I'd for sure take my Z palette also filled with Makeup Geek shadows with me! X

  6. I barely take anything when I go away! I like to let me skin breathe and in all honesty I just can't be bothered to wear it when it's usually so hot! Props to you for committing to the makeup life haha

  13. These are brilliant make up choices! I tend to take as much make up as I can when I travel because you never know what you'll need! There's always one thing I end up regretting not bringing with me...
