My festival essentials

Summer not only means holidays, tan's and time off school, but also festivals, and lots of them! There are tonnes of festivals up and down country going on over the next few months and since I'm going to my first ever one this year too, it only seemed right to do a post or two about them.
I'm going to Boardmasters which is in early August and like I said it'll be my first festival, I've spent a long time planning everything I need to take with me so I thought I'd share my essentials with you!

So to kick it off I'm sure we can all agree that although you aren't gonna be smelling like roses everyday when you're there, and the reality is that you'll probably have to queue for hours just to have a cold shower with a hair filled plughole, you want to try and stay smelling as fresh as possible. That's why I can't recommend enough taking a mini deodorant and body spray, compact, but there to keep you smelling nice after a classic wet wipe wash.
Carrying on from the theme of staying clean, the good ole wet wipe wash is inevitable I'm afraid, all dignity you have goes out of the window, or tent should I say, and rubbing yourself down with wet wipes or makeup wipes is probably going to become a daily routine. Jumping up and down all day is going to make you sweat and if you can't get to the showers, the wet wipe is going to become your best friend.

Taking nothing you value to much to a festival is a given considering the likely hood of your nice things getting stolen is unfortunately pretty high. Most people will have a phone and money with them though and a fanny pack or bum bag is the best way to keep your valuables with you and safe. They are a definite necessity for any festival!
Plasters and anti septic wipes. Festivals are a pretty grim place, there's gong to be broken items, peoples clothes, food and possibly even human waste *gags* everywhere and you definitely don't want any little cuts you might have getting infected. Kind of a boring one but so important to remember.

Unfortunately the facilities at festivals aren't going to be the standard you're used to either and something really easy to forget is a mirror. You will be lucky if they have one there you get a chance to look in but it's gonna make doing your hair, makeup and most importantly glitter, very difficult to do if you can't see what you're doing. I'd highly recommend getting yourself a small cheap one to take with you and it'll make life a lot easier. You can even get fold up full length ones for if you want to check your outfit!

Like I said, I am still a festival newbie so if you've got any other thing's you'd recommend I take then please let me know!

  9. Have a hand sanitizer and a little pack of tissues on you AT ALL TIMES. You will definitely need them haha, there's barely ever any toilet roll anywhere and you're gonna feel like you wanna wash your hands umpteen times a day!! Hope you enjoy Boardmasters :)

  11. Paracetamol or something like that might be good idea, it was for me at least as I would sometimes get a headache, not fun. Also a pack of tissues is going to be a life saver, I went to V Festival last year and there was never any toilet roll.

  12. I've only been to two festivals and they were both last year! I'm not a fan of tents, put it that way ahahaha! But I had a great time nonetheless and I got ahold of this lovely bum bag from River Island to bring with me. Although, I did walk into the sea with it... that may have had something to do with alcohol.
