The perfect bronzed glow

So this post is going up at possibly the worst time ever- straight after we've had a good four days of insanely hot weather for the UK, probably resulting in most of us getting a natural tan. I'm still going to go ahead with it anyway though because for those of you who maybe don't tan so well naturally, and even with the heatwave still resemble a certain shade of ghost, this will definitely be a help!

I have been on a self proclaimed mission for god knows how long now to find perfect fake tan, it's hit many dead ends, trust me! However it seems I may now have found my perfect product. It's name? The Bondi sands liquid gold tanning oil!

I stumbled across this tan simply by chance when browsing Superdrug for my next product to trial, I heard a girl near me telling her boyfriend about how much she loved this tan (he looked completely uninterested by the way but I was all ears), so going off this random girls recommendation which she gave me unknowingly, I made my decision and brought it home to try. When I got home I took to Twitter and Instagram to see clearly Superdrug girl wasn't the only one who loved this product, it seemed to be a cult fave between bloggers, so with that in mind I had high hopes!

Before the tan I first prepped my body by exfoliating EVERYWHERE, and then to apply I spray a few squirts on to my mitt and buff in to my skin using circular motions. The tan applies super easy and feels as though it's dried in to your skin almost instantly. I leave it about 10 minutes before getting dressed and have never experienced any transfer on to my clothes or bed sheets which is great.

The tan doesn't need to be washed off after a certain amount of time which is perfect if you wanted to tan in the morning before going out somewhere, as you could literally apply it and let it develop during the day. I prefer to do it at night just before I go to bed though so it develops over night and then I have a shower in the morning just to wash away any residue that may have occurred.

For those of you that worry about fake tan making you go orange then you don't have anything to worry about with this product. I'd say it actually makes you a golden shade which isn't anything close to orange, you look sun kissed rather! I don't find it goes patchy on me either as long as I prep my skin correctly before.

The one thing I struggle with when using this tan, which some people will actually love, is getting it off! I think it's because it's a tanning oil rather than a mousse or moisturiser, that it almost stains my skin, which is perfect for when you want it on, but when it comes to taking it off I have to exfoliate my skin REALLY hard to get my skin back to it's normal pale glow. For people that like to layer their tan then this is perfect, but for me who might just want it for a weekend, scrubbing it off can sometimes prove difficult, especially on my neck.

Overall though I am actually a huge fan of this tan and it's my current favourite to use, mostly because of the natural un-fake colour it gives me. So for any fellow tanned skin seekers this is definitely a must try and I'd love to know what you think of it!

  4. I might give this a go. I am awfully pale and only burn in the sun! I lost my trust in self tanning after my last one went awfully wrong even though I properly exfoliated everywhere! Literally looked like someone dipped me in gravy!

  5. I've always been way too scared to use fake tan as I'm so damn pale naturally but I love the fact that this sounds more like a stain than sticky cream ones that I've heard terrible things about! Might just brave up and try a bit of this on my legs haha!

  7. I'm so pale that I'm always terrified that fake tan will make me look like a Wotsit, but this sounds really nice! I love the idea of an oil too, and that it's so quick to dry in. Thanks for sharing, I'll have to give this a shot!
