A highlighter revolution

Highlighter is what many of us would call our holy grail product. I can't think of anyone who doesn't love a good glow on their cheeks because there's nothing better than when someone takes a photo of you and the light hits your face just right, making your face is glow like the sun!

I'm always on the lookout for new highlighters to try, especially when they're cheap, and after winning a giveaway on twitter recently where a highlighter was included in the prize I have found a new love!
The Mua luxe glow beam highlighting powder in Gold is it's name, and boy is it good! I've never seen a highlight come like it before, its in a circle pot which has blades just under the lid so when you twist it, it cuts up little shaves of the highlighter for you to use, clever right? This is something I really like about it and definitely think it makes it unique, the only downside to it being like this rather than just in a normal pan is that you can't just swatch it without using it, you've got to 'grate' the shards of highlighter out to get a feel for the colour.

The highlighter itself is an insanely pretty gold shade which reminds me of a darker version of Thebalms Mary lou-manizer. It's perfect for the pale complexion which I have so if you are fair skinned like me you don't need to worry about that, however I also think it would also suit darker complexions too as it's such a 'gold' gold if that makes sense.
I use a fan brush to apply the product and dust it over my cheeks, down my nose and under my eyebrows and it adds such a pretty glow. The highlighter is really pigmented which I like and let me tell you, when the light hits your face you'll be glowing! Another plus is I find it lasts me all day, so on those college day early starts you can still clearly see it on my face by the time I'm back home again.
The highlighter is from Mua's luxe range which even though is classed as the more expensive side of their line, the highlighter is still dirt cheap at only £5. I would seriously recommend this product if you couldn't tell already and I will be looking in to whether Mua do any other shades of this for sure, I'd love a more icy pink shade of this to add to my collection. So well done Mua, you did good!

  1. I've heard about the Mua Luxe range here and there but I'm not exactly a massive fan of their products. I've never been keen on them until I discovered their eye-shadow colours.

  4. The packaging is different and cute, although I am sure i'd make a mess with a loose product like this! The shade is lovely.
