Full face first impressions

Recently I've bought quite a few new makeup products all from different makeup genres like foundation and concealer etc so I decided to test out all the new products together and then get back to you at the end of the day to tell you what I think of them. So this is my complete first impression of these products as today is the first day I've tried them.

For foundation I used the Rimmel fresher face foundation. I really liked the way this product applied as it buffed in to my skin really nicely almost as though it was a mousse formula. However I wasn't keen on the coverage as it just wasn't enough for me, I'd say it was light/medium. I also found throughout the day the foundation wore off on me and became patchy so by the end of the day I wasn't looking too great!

A new concealer I had to try out was the Rimmel match perfection. I was really excited to try this as it packaging and consistency reminded me of my beloved L.A. girl one. It provided me with really good coverage on my problem areas and was certainly very brightening underneath my eyes. I found it lasted on me all day as well unlike the foundation so this is going to become a much loved product by me I can tell!

To contour and set I used the Barry M chisel cheeks contour kit in light and used the middle shade to just bronze up my cheeks as I'm not really one for harsh contour and then the lightest shade to set all of over my face. I really liked the bronzing shade but I wasn't so keen on the lighter powder as it drew attention to the hairs on my face quite a bit and I've used others that are much better.

For eyeshadow I used the MUA palette in Undress me too and did a really simple eye look using the 5th shade on the top row as a crease colour and then the 4th shade on the bottom row all over my lid. I was incredibly impressed with this palette as the shadows were really pigmented, blended well and lasted on my lids all day!

For mascara I used the Maybelline big eyes and coated my lashes with it. It has two wands one for your top lashes and one for the bottom and even though I'm not really a bottom lashes sort of girl I really like the way this made them look. It didn't so much give my lashes volume but there was a lot of length.

Finally on my lips I tried out the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker lip gloss in rose and shine. It was just a really light pink shade that wasn't dramatic at all but gave a shine to the lips. I really liked the way this looked although I did find it a bit sticky when I first put it on and it didn't last that long.

So overall I was pretty impressed with al the new products that I tried and I really enjoyed giving you my proper first impressions. Thanks for reading.

I've got my second post in my new makeup collection series today with this one showcasing my concealers and primers. Primers are one thing that I never really branch out on and I always seem to use the same ones, so if you have any recommendations then please let me know!

1. Rimmel match perfection: 010 Ivory

2. L.A girl pro conceal: Porcelain

3. Maybelline the eraser eye: Light

4. Mac pro long wear: Nc15

5. Benefit boi-ing: 02

6. Collection lasting perfection: 1 Fair
1. Nivea men post shave balm

3. Seventeen skin wow

4. Barry M flawless original

As you can see I don't have the biggest selection of concealers or primers (or maybe it is big haha) but that's because I get so used to using the same ones I love that I never try anything new. Thanks for reading.

Primark beauty haul

Lets be honest here, Primark is everybody's favourite shop! Like the bag says, amazing fashion, amazing prices! It's full of some utter crap yeah, but you can also find some proper gems there too, in the fashion and beauty department! On a recent trip to Primarni I picked up quite a few bits mainly from the beauty section which I thought I'd share with you today.
Firstly I picked up two sets of the nicest fake nails I have ever seen, thus the closer photo so you can see the cuteness!!! They are both Christmas themed, the first set being santa ones with cute santa faces for the thumb nail, santa suits for the other nails and a sparkly gold one for the accent nail. The other set are penguin themed with a penguin for the thumb nail and snowflakes and smaller penguins for the other nails. For £1.50 these are literally the best buy ever!!! You can buy them for yourself and have the prettiest nails around this festive season, or they would be perfect presents and stocking fillers.

I also got a pot nail varnish remover for £1 which is amazing! A quick dip of my nail in there and its completely free of any varnish it had on before. I honestly cant believe how well this works and especially for only £1!
The next two things I got were a set of two makeup sponges, one beauty blender shaped and the other a bit random for £1.50 and a makeup brush cleanser too for £1.50 too. Both sponges feel like great quality and I've used to makeup brush cleaner already on my brushes and its so good at giving them a deep cleanse!
I also spotted these foot food sachets which come with a scrub an cream reduced to 20p from £1 which I just had to get because no word of a lie, these make my feet so soft! I've had one before and he reduced price was just calling my name!
The last thing I picked up was actually from the home section and is this set of pink fairy lights for £1.50. I've already got some white fairy lights from Primark which I love, but when I saw these pink ones I couldn't say no! As soon as I get some batteries I'll be adding these in to my room.

Payday is rolling around soon and I know as I've got some money to spend I'll be back down Primark and probably coming at you with another haul. I'm also thinking about doing a post about the best products from Primark beauty so you might see that soon too. Thank for reading.

Mac nutcracker sweet nude lipstick set

That's right, I've done it! I bought myself a set from Mac's new collection! If you haven't seen pictures of the new Nutcracker sweet collection from Mac going round then where have you been? It's host to the infamous whisper of guilt highlight, the set of bronze pigments everyone has gone nuts for, and the incredibly cute sets of four mini lipsticks which are what I managed to get my hands on.

The lipstick sets came in two colours, red, or the one I chose which was nude. Each kit had four mini lipsticks in which were of course in a gorgeous holiday packaging which made them look extra special. The shades in mine were Crème cup a cremesheen finish, Kinda sexy a matte, Nouvelle vogue a matte and Whirl a matte.

Crème cup is a Barbie pink shade that thanks to its cremesheen formula isn't too in your face but adds more of a glossy pink look, Kinda sexy is an orange toned nude and a really interesting one on your lips, I've never had a shade like it before but I'm actually really intrigued, Nouvelle vogue is a bright pink shade that reminds me of a darker version of brave although I do believe though that it isn't available to buy at Mac anymore and the only way of getting your hands on it is through this set. The last lipstick Whirl, which was the one I was most excited for is a brown toned nude, described by mac is a dirty rose which I would agree with.

(Swatches are lipsticks left to right)
This set along with the other sets in the collection was incredibly well priced at £26 because a normal lipstick from Mac is £15.50 but in this you get four shades, which yes are mini, for £26. Plus the actual design on the products is gorgeous and the lipsticks come in a little box with a pull out draw which makes them look extra special.

I think I might have to pick up a few other bits from the collection soon and if you want to get your hands on this set then make sure you do it soon because it is limited edition. Thanks for reading.
